S.E.A. Aquarium is the world largest oceanarium, holding more than 20 million gallons of salt water habitats. It is built to fulfil the objective of spurring the interest in marine science education, research and stewardship. Guests have a chance to admire dolphins up close and there is a wading pool which allows children and adults to venture into shallow water for intimate interaction with the reef and fishes. Initially, there were plans to have whale sharks in this world's largest oceanarium but because of the drawbacks, the plan was cancelled.
The Maritime Experiential Museum is one of the only museums in the world dedicated to the celebration of the maritime heritage of Asia.
The museum show-cases the history of the maritime Silk Route from the 9th to the 19th century, through an interactive, multi-sensory process. The main attraction of the Museum is a huge 360-degree multimedia theatre that is housed at the centre of the museum. Visitors "board a ship" and with the help of the multimedia technology, visitors are able to experience the ship sailing through stormy weather and finally sinking into the sea. The passengers also experience that sinking feeling as the theatre floor descends. When the lights finaly come on, the ship's passengers find themselves in the depths of the ocean, up close with the shipwreck and magnificent marine life.
